What are weaner pigs or "weaners"? They are piglets in the stage that comes after lactation (after weaning). Weaning is when the piglets are taken away from the sow and eat only solid food and water. Thus weaner pigs are piglets that are old enough to leave mom and have gone through the weaning process.
