Accessibility Statement
Effective date: July 14, 2026
Last reviewed: July 14, 2026
Our Commitment
Carrisito Ranch is committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We want everyone to be able to find information about our ranch, our products, and how to reach us, regardless of how they browse the web. We have taken active steps to improve the accessibility of carrisitoranch.org and treat accessibility as an ongoing effort.
Standard We Follow
We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the internationally recognized guidelines for making web content accessible, and they are the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in its guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Conformance Status
Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that most of the website meets the standard, but some parts do not yet fully conform. The specific areas that fall short are described under "Known Limitations" below. We are documenting these openly so visitors know what to expect and can reach us if they need help.
What We Have Done
In 2026, we engaged Prospus (Kaamfu Inc.) to carry out a full accessibility audit of this website and to make corrective improvements. The work included:
-
Added descriptive labels to navigation icons, such as the shopping cart and author profile links, so screen readers can announce what they do
-
Corrected the heading structure across the site so that assistive technologies can move through the content in a logical order
-
Added proper main page headings to the Blog and Shop pages
-
Rewrote the alternative text for site images, replacing filename-style text with plain descriptions of what each image shows
-
Replaced unclear link text, including 21 citation links in our Beef Liver Nutrition article, with short descriptive labels that identify where each link goes
-
Reviewed color contrast on the newsletter signup area and adjusted button colors so text is easier to read
Known Limitations
Despite these efforts, some parts of the site have limitations we are not able to correct from within our website platform:
-
Newsletter signup form: Our email signup form is provided by a third-party service (Constant Contact, delivered through the Digioh widget) and loads inside a separate frame on the page. The name and email fields rely on placeholder text rather than labels that screen readers can reliably announce, which can make the form difficult to use with a screen reader. Because this form is controlled by the third-party service and not by our website platform, we cannot correct it directly on our end. Fully resolving it would require replacing the signup form or a change from the service provider.
-
Newsletter area structure: The signup area does not retain certain navigation attributes that would help screen reader users locate it, because of how our website platform handles third-party content of this kind.
If you have trouble using the newsletter signup, please contact us using the details below and we will be glad to add you to our list directly.
How We Tested
The accessibility of this website was reviewed through a combination of manual checks and automated testing tools, including the axe accessibility testing tool, evaluated against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Testing was performed on the live website. This statement reflects the results of that review and the improvements made as a result.
Feedback and Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any difficulty using part of the site, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve, please contact us:
